What is Hydroponics?

It is a set of techniques that replaces the soil, it is also called soil-less agriculture. Hydroponics allows you to design simple and /or complex structures promoting the best environmental conditions to produce any herbaceous plant  taking full advantage of any area (rooftop gardens, infertile soils, rugged terrain, etc.) regardless of the dimensions or the physical state of these areas .

Major advantages of our hydroponics cultivation

The advantages of hydroponic lettuce versus conventional lettuce are innumerable. The most important are:

-High nutritional quality: As a result of being in direct contact with the nutrient solution, the lettuce is highly nutritious.

-Much fresher: Our method of cultivation allows us to harvest plants and package them with the entire root. This means we can deliver a much fresher product to the consumer.

-Less pesticides: The use of pesticides is reduced considerably. Because the plants are in direct contact with the nutrient solution, they grow much more homogeneously and are not in  competition with each other, as a result they are healthier, reducing attacks from fungi and other pathogens. They also grow more healthily as they are not in contact with the ground and all the types of fungi, insects and bacteria which are found there.

In addition, our hydroponic cultivation is much more respectful of our planet than traditional crops on soil.

We understand that agriculture, like hydroponics, emerged   because of a need for food. However, agricultural mismanagement has caused damage to our environment. Compared to agriculture on soil, hydroponics offers a solution to these problems because it meets demands for food using less space and uses water more efficiently because all the water not absorbed by plants is recovered and reused. Nitrate pollution of the soil, which often occurs in traditional agriculture when nitrates trickle down and contaminate aquifers, is also avoided.
